Elvin Lee Moody, 62, of Roanoke Rapids died Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Elvin, a native of Halifax County, was the son of the late Clarence Goodridge and Grace Johnson Moody. He loved music, dancing and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacy L. Coley and her husband, Thomas, of Stokes; his brothers, Clarence Gordon Moody and his wife, Libby, of Kernersville, and Dave A. Moody and his wife, Angela, of Gaston; his step-mother, Margaret Moody of Gaston; his three grandchildren, Caleb, Farren and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Tony Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
